Rest in Piece

To this page we have colected some pictures about the Classic Chevys which has died at the forest before anyone could help them.

These fotos are from -89.
Our member founded this from the forest at the estside of the Finland.´55 Chevy was 210-model (it wasn´t easy to find out :-)).

Later, for some reason...someone cut of the roof.

This ´56 Chevy pictures has been taken at the summer 2001.
When the car was found, it was in so bad condition (as you can see) that there was only few parts to save.
The ´56 has been a partcar to cars of some our members...and the rest of the car is lieing at the west coast of Finland, at the yard of one member.

Chevrolet ´56 4D Sedan 210
Found by one of our member. The car has served meny years as a taxi, but for unknown reason it ended to this forest.

Chevrolet 1957 4 d BelAir
This is all what was left in autumn -03. Because of a fight in a family in 1970, the car was driven to the forest.
Complete car has gone thru the really hard times with rust, but also with grave robbers who has cut the car to the pieces one by one..

Chevrolet ´55 4D Sedan
This fifty-five was on a field in South-Finland a few years ago and probably is still there.
The car is fair complete even has stand on the same place from the seventies
Like many has said; there is so many of them who can't respect the Classics. Owner of this car said that he will rather let it rust on the field than sell it to someone for restoring. How smart!

1955 Chevy STW 210 Townsman
This is real forest found indeed! This poor -55 STW has been laying in the forest since 80-ties.
The local amateurs have been trying to save this still restorable and unbelievable complete car for a long time without results.
The car is enjoying of the evening sun (still in fair condition) in the summer 2004.. at countryside somewhere in west side of Finland.
This story wouldn't need any words.

From these pictures everyone can understand what has happened and maybe can learn something.

There´s many kind of wisdoms after the event, but those all ideas are too late when firemen's are already leaving from the yard.

So, what happened?

1956 Chevy 4D HT BelAir "2004"
Once upon in a time, there was a fancy -56 4D HT Chevy (above), totally renovated by own hands. It was stored for the winter to the garage that was build by own hands to the own backyard.

There was enough space for to renovate another car at the same time when Chevy was in, and that´s what exactly happened.
There was another person who was welding his own car.. that started to burn.
The result can be seen here.

Now everyone, lets have a moment of silence for the memory of this Classic and then everyone could have some thoughts how this could avoid to happen in your own garage.
